ABOUT ALEX BUSTARDE

Bookkeeping Plus CEO Alex Bustarde knows businesses thrive when decision-makers are well-informed to make the best financial decisions for their organization. For nearly 30 years, Alex has provided key, timely and accurate accounting and financial data for a range of international corporate leaders and C-level executives, allowing them to do what they do best: focus on running and growing their business.  

 

Alex’s principal areas of practice include the financial audit process including Sox 404, and all aspects of accounting from full-charge bookkeeping through financial statement preparation. He has many years of experience in financial planning and analysis, internal controls, risk management, regulatory compliance, corporate accounting and financial reporting.

 

For the last eight years, Alex has worked as an accountant and controller for two U.S.-based fertility practices, one of healthcare’s most competitive growth sectors internationally. He was instrumental in converting one of the largest and most well-known practice from a cash basis accounting system to accrual, reconciled its billing systems with its accounting system, and improved filing systems overall.

 

Previously, Alex—known for both his passion and patience—worked in accounts payable for a large department store in his native Philippines where he developed his calculating speed skill and attention to detail. As a CPA, he later joined one of the big four accounting firms, where he worked as an auditor. At this firm, in both the Philippines and the United States, Alex solidified his accounting and auditing expertise, and learned about the importance of internal controls and best practices of businesses across many industries. He then moved to Los Angeles, where he worked for two years as an auditor and tax accountant at a highly-regarded mid-sized tax practice.

 

When he’s not crunching numbers, Alex enjoys spending time with his wife, sons, & their three energetic maltese/terrier pups.
